⚠ Growth Outside the Americas Is SlowLow threat

Oracle (ORCL) — threat to the moat

Almost nine-tenths of Oracle's growth came from the Americas, and Europe grew three percent once currency is removed.

Oracle is a global company whose growth has become American. Revenue in the Americas rose from $36,339 million in fiscal 2025 to $44,478 million in fiscal 20261, about 22.4%2. Oracle says the Americas contributed 88% of its constant-currency revenue growth3. EMEA revenue grew 9% in dollars but only 3% in constant currency4.

Revenue by region, FY2026 ($M)44,478Americas15,297EMEA7,582Asia PacificOracle Form 10-K FY2026
Two-thirds of revenue, most of the growth.

The applications business is where this matters most, because the European and Asian customers of Oracle's suites are the long-standing installed base. Revenue in Asia Pacific was $7,582 million in fiscal 2026, against $6,750 million in fiscal 202256, growth of about 12% over four years7.

Most of the American growth comes from cloud infrastructure, which is concentrated in a few large customers. The installed base abroad is growing at roughly the rate of inflation.

The largest single countries outside America are small by comparison. The United Kingdom produced $2,816 million of fiscal 2026 revenue, Germany $1,993 million and Japan $1,870 million, against $39,835 million from the United States8. Revenue in the other countries grouped together was $20,843 million9, the long tail of the installed base.

This is a threat to growth rather than to the moat. It would become a threat to the moat if EMEA revenue began falling in constant currency, which would mean European customers are leaving the software, not just declining to buy the cloud.
