Palantir Technologies (PLTR) — threat to the moat

Palantir will not sell to customers whose activities clash with its values, which strengthens government trust and narrows its market.

Palantir limits its own market deliberately. The 10-K says "we may not enter into relationships with potential customers if we consider their activities to be inconsistent with our organizational mission or values"1. Few software companies list a refusal to sell as a risk factor.

Revenue outside the United States ($M)744.52022965.320241,155.42025Calculated: total revenue less US revenue, Palantir Forms 10-K FY2022 and FY2025
The foreign business grows, more slowly than the American one.

The screen is part of why governments trust it: a supplier that chooses sides is a supplier that will not also serve an adversary. It is also a cost, because it excludes customers and, in some markets, may make Palantir itself a political subject.

The effect shows in the geography. Revenue from outside the United States was about $1,155 million in 2025, 26% of the total2, and 19% in the second quarter of 20263. Palantir's growth has become more American as its politics have become more explicit.

The number to watch is international revenue growth. If allied-government and foreign commercial revenue keep growing at 30% or more, the screen costs little; if foreign revenue stalls while the company becomes more closely identified with one country's government, the screen will have become a ceiling.
