✦ The Future BetsNarrow moat

CrowdStrike (CRWD) — the future bets

CrowdStrike's future bets all depend on the same installed sensor reaching further, and it has raised its guidance for the nearest one three times this year.

CrowdStrike's future rests on four bets, and the company has raised its own expectations for the nearest one three times this year. Its fiscal 2027 ARR guidance midpoint was about $6,491.1 million in March1, about $6,543.6 million in June2 and about $6,607.5 million in August3. The latest release raised the net new ARR growth outlook to 34% at the midpoint4.

Raised at each quarter this year.

The long bet is the goal of $20 billion of ending ARR in fiscal 20365, which requires about 14% a year for a decade. The newest is AI: partnerships with OpenAI and Anthropic, an AI detection and response product and the acquisition of Pangea. The most expensive is identity, where SGNL cost $627.9 million6. The most concrete is profit: guidance for non-GAAP operating income of $1,497.2 million to $1,508.4 million7 and three consecutive quarters of GAAP net profit.

The bets share one feature. Each depends on the installed sensor reaching further, into AI workloads, identities and data, without a second agent. That is the moat described on The Moat pages; the future bets are the question of how far it extends.

They also share one gap in disclosure. The company reports no revenue for AI security, identity or its SIEM products; everything is inside ARR and subscription revenue. Investors therefore judge each bet through the same few numbers.

None of the four bets is financed with borrowing. The company's only debt is $750 million of 3.00% senior notes maturing in February 20298, against cash of $5.01 billion at July 20269.

Net new ARR growth is the common test. Guided at 34% for fiscal 202710, a result below 25% would say the bets together are not adding faster than the old endpoint business did.

Moat trajectory: Widening

FY2027 ARR guidance raised three times; net new ARR guided +34%.
