Intuitive has renewed Synektik early three times and added territory each time; the current term is shorter than the service contracts Synektik sells.

A distribution contract is only as long as its next renewal, and Synektik's has been renewed three times in five years. An extension signed on 19 May 2021 ran the agreement to April 20261. An annex in July 2024 took it to the end of 2029, and another in October 2024 added Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia2. The annex of February 2026 extended cooperation to 31 December 2031 and added Ukraine3.

From Poland alone to seven countries.

The pattern matters more than any single date. Each extension came early, before the old term ran out, and each came with more territory rather than less. The exclusive territory has grown from one country in 2018 to seven in 202645. For a manufacturer that was at the same time buying back its distributors in southern Europe6, that is a vote of confidence it did not have to cast.

Each renewal has also been followed by growth that justified it. After the 2021 extension Polish procedures rose from about 3 thousand in the year to September 20227 to 19,8 thousand three years later8. After the 2024 extension the installed base grew from 86 systems at September 20249 to 142 at June 202610. A distributor that keeps producing growth of that order gives its supplier little reason to change the arrangement early.

It is still a short horizon for this business. A robot sold in Estonia in September 2026 comes with nine years of maintenance and ten years of consumables11, commitments that run into the mid-2030s, beyond the current end of Synektik's exclusivity. The contracts Synektik signs with hospitals are longer than the contract Intuitive has signed with Synektik.
